Yellow healing salve in the eclectic tradition
of Dr. Eli G. Jones (M.D.) AO Yellow Healing Salve
Two adjuncts that are frequently used with
Cansema® and escharotics, in general, are:
Among the "after-care" tools used by knowledgeable physicians in their practices in
the 1800's and early 1900's, before the pharmaceutical industry succeeded in suppressing many effective natural cures,
were a class of healing ointments, broadly referred to as "yellow salves." One of the most popular of these was one
published by Eli G. Jones in his seminal work, Cancer: Its Cases, Symptoms, and Treatment (1911).
Over the years, we had received requests as pioneers in escharotic preparations online to bring back an effective yellow salve. The variant we carry was created by Dr. Bill Easley, a retired chiropractor, medical researcher, and long-term associate of Alpha Omega Labs. As it works as well as any "yellow salve," we have examined over the years, we now carry it for the benefit of our customers. (Dr. Easley supplied us with a photographic testimonial in 2017 in healing over actinic keratosis, which he successfully treated with our Cansema. See: Case #022017.) Directions: Apply AO Yellow Healing Salve liberally twice daily to accelerate healing of the wound area. Ingredients: Mutton tallow (cosmetic grade), yellow beeswax, organic olive oil, gum spirit of turpentine, burgundy pitch, ethanol extract of plantain leaf, calendula ointment, essential oils (lavender, frankincense, helicrysum, and morenga), Vitamin E oil, DMSO.

The formula below is the original recipe
provided by Dr. Jones in his 1912 monograph. It is provided for informational and
historical purposes only. You may note that the majority of the ingredients are
either difficult to source, or -- in the case of cosmoline -- almost impossible
to obtain. Please not confuse the particulars of this formula with our own
AO Yellow Salve, which is a stand-alone product that needs nothing added to it.
The finished formulas are close, but not identical.
Burgundy pitchDr. Jones' original instructions from 1912: Melt, stir, and cool. Then, add 5 parts cosmoline. Spread onto soft white cloth and apply three times a day. It will draw out the unhealthy pus. If it draws too hard and causes smarting or pain, add one part Vaseline to three parts salve and apply as before. |
