10. Care of the Batteries
If the apparatus is not to be used for a long period of time (more than 4-5 days), it is recommended to remove the battery from the apparatus in order to void its complete and irreversible discharge. Batteries in storage should be recharged once a month for 1-2 hours.
Recharging of Batteries:
Batteries should be recharged according to the instructions supplied with the battery charger.
If there are no such instructions, use standard procedures for recharging batteries:
Connection and disconnection of the battery to the charger should be carried out with the latter disconnected from the mains;
The standard charge cycle is 11 mA for 14 hours;
Batteries should not be left in storage connected to the charger.
Warning! Batteries are supplied uncharged and should therefore be charged prior to installation.
Warning! "NIKA" batteries are sensitive to overcharging. Overcharging causes the battery to "swell" and lose capacity. Recharging a not-fully-discharged battery for the full recharge may cause overcharging.
